APA career framework pathways
The Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA) has released details of its planned Physiotherapy Career Pathway. The pathway framework is intended to harmonise set of standards and competencies for physiotherapists. The framework is going to be the umbrella for all training, mentoring, research, and assessment for the APA and universities in Australia and possibly New Zealand.
The APA says that a new career pathway needs to be developed as a reward and recognition for physiotherapists in Australia. The APA sees a need to create a single point of concept to consult with many career pathways for the long term and ongoing improvement; and for this to be done in conjunction with educators. Systems and processes will be specifically designed and shared across the profession around assessment tools.
