The Podiatry Board of Australia has implemented the revised registration standard for endorsement of scheduled medicines.
The Board allocated a three month preparation period which started in May 2018 to allow podiatrists to be familiar with the changes prior to its implementation.
Last updated on 1 July 2010, the new registration standards offers better wording and structure. Furthermore, it emphasizes on two pathways for practitioners to gain endorsement.
Pathway A is a new pathway that qualifies students for endorsement for scheduled medicines after graduating from a program of study accredited for the pathway. Pathway B, on the other hand focuses on the improved process of submitting evidence along with an application for endorsement.
The Board also announced changes on the National Podiatry Scheduled Medicines List. All information in the revised registration standards for endorsement of scheduled medicines, guidelines, and medicines list can be found on the FAQ page.
