Feedback sought on a proposed revision to therapeutic endorsement for optometrists
The Optometry Board of Australia opens public consultation on endorsement for scheduled medicines registration standard and guidelines for use of scheduled medicines. The Board is inviting comments on the proposed revised registration standard and guidelines.
- The proposed revised registration standard and guidelines would be clearer and easier to understand.
- The Board-approved list of scheduled medicines currently attached to the standard will be attached to the guidelines, and be replaced with a description of classes of scheduled medicines to which the endorsement applies in the standard.
- The Board will endorse the registration of optometrists as being qualified in accordance with relevant state and territory legislation in topical schedule 2, 3 or 4 medicines for the purposes of the practice of optometry.
Feedback submitted using the response template in Word format or equivalent no later than Friday, 31 March 2017.
Please visit the Optometry Board of Australia page to view the submission procedure.
