Over 61,000 thank yous for 2014 :-)
Obviously it’s that time where we look at bringing in a new year, and reflect on the year just gone. I have so many people to thank this year that I couldn’t possibly name them all in one post. So I’m going to keep this simple……

To the more than 61,000 people who landed somewhere on the website in 2014, I hope you found the information that you were looking for!! And yes, just in case you were wondering, the website has been growing quite nicely, with over 22,500 visitors in the first 6 months of the year and 39,500 in the second half of the year.
To everyone who wrote a guest article for My Health Career in 2014, I know that I have thanked you privately, but I just wanted to do it again publicly. The contribution you have made is immeasurable.
To the hundreds of career development practitioners, guidance officers and careers advisers who refer students to the website week in and week out, thank you so much for your support! Please be sure to let me know what you need from My Health Career to make it a more useful resource. :-)
To the organisations such as the Career Development Association of Australia, the Career Education Association of Victoria and the Queensland Association of Student Advisors– thank you so much for the opportunity to present health careers information to your members via webinars, live presentations and articles in your journals. I hope that this has given you the ability to better advise prospective health students on the ins and outs of the industry.
To the high school careers advisers who are passionate enough to put on a local careers event for students in your area – I would like to acknowledge your commitment to the futures of the young people you guide. You are a breath of fresh air!! And many thanks for being so welcoming and accommodating at your events. And yes, that includes you Coffs Harbour, Camden Haven and Taree. And I’m looking forward to more locations in 2015!!
To schools such as the All Hallows School, Hubbard’s School, and Ipswich Grammar School – it’s always a privilege to be able to come and speak to your students on the topic of health careers.
To myfuture, thank you so much for the opportunity to present a live chat on the topic of what it’s like to be an optometrist. I hope the participants went away with their questions about the profession answered!
To the team at the HealthFusion Team Challenge, thank you so much for the honour of being the Master of Ceremonies on the Finals Day in Brisbane. You run an amazing interdisciplinary event for uni students, and it is great to be a part of it.
To the people in the health industry and careers industry who I’ve met along the way who I catch up with for coffee and talk all things health and careers. Thank you so much. You help to keep me on track throughout the year!!
To the health practitioners who are out there week in, week out (even at Christmas and New Year when everyone else is on holidays), thank you for everything you do for the health and welfare of the people of Australia. I love the many inspirational things happening in health.
To my team who help with graphic design, web development, social media, article writing and behind the scenes stuff, thank you so much. I don’t think I can thank you enough for everything you do to make the website what it is…. And yes, there is still such a long way to go to get it to where we want it to be!! So let’s move on to 2015!!
To the organisations I am in the middle of creating partnerships and initiatives with, thank you so much for the possibilities in 2015 and beyond!!
